February 2022 SHMBA Membership Meeting in Huntsville, Alabama February Membership Meeting Date: February 15th Time: 3pm-4pm Location: DoubleTree Suites, 6000 Memorial Parkway SW, Huntsville, Alabama 35802 Speaker: Dr. John F. Kvach, Executive Director of Singing River Trail Dr. John F. Kvach, serves as the Executive Director of the Singing River Trail, a 200+ mile greenway trail system that will span North Alabama. Previously, Dr. Kvach spent ten years as an Associate Professor of Southern History at the University of Alabama in Huntsville, and served as Vice President of Liberty Learning Foundation. He has written two books and many articles on local and state history, southern history, historic preservation, and the culture of the American South. Dr. Kvach now works with eight counties, 25+ towns and cities, and many private/public stakeholders who see regional collaboration and the Singing River Trail as part of the collective future for the people and communities of North Alabama.
