Water Oak Country Club Estates Breaks Ground on Major Golf Course

Water Oak Country Club Estates, a Sun Communities destination, announced today it has broken ground on a multi-million dollar renovation. The milestone project follows a recently renovated model home sales center, the addition of a new operations center and expanded home sites to elevate amenities and accommodation options for its active resort residents and growing residential base. Designed by Sanford Ferris Golf Designs, the new course will alleviate flooding issues, improve the routing, and provide a strategic and fun challenge for all golfers. Once complete, the new par 70, 6,100-yard layout will embrace the site’s unique characteristics, like the large mature oak trees that have defined the course for decades. Additionally, the new routing also takes advantage of the 90-acre site’s 70 feet of vertical change. “Our team is thrilled to lead the design of the complete course renovation,” said David Ferris, ASGCA, RLA of Sanford, Ferris Golf Design. “With straight sight lines and angled features including fairways, greens, and bunkers, this core golf course emulates those of the golden era of golf course design.” Water Oak Country Club Estates is a gated 55+ active living community with 1,300 home sites and growing quality-built manufactured homes and resort-style amenities.
