Description
I have 3 gorgeous gerbil sisters. Nyx (black), Peanut (brown), and Fluff (looks kind of like an unevenly toasted marshmallow). We have to move cross-country, and worry because we can't fit a tank large enough to accommodate them, and don't want them getting stressed and fighting. They have a little gerbil tunnel condo, a house with a wooden tunnel to another house, a lava slab (walking across it helps keep their nails down), and a water bottle. I also have a glass container I've used for their sand bath.
I'd like to keep their wheel, but can add it for $15 or if I find an absolutely incredible home I know will care for them properly. It's a large Niteangel Super Silent hamster wheel, and they like to run two at a time. I can also give you a ziploc of the Gerry Gerbil food they eat, as well as one of the lab blocks they eat.
They love seeds and peanuts, as well as blueberries.
They will need a secure 40 gallon or larger tank, as well as lots of burrowing space and things to chew. They're amazing to watch and play with, they come running for treats, and are very smart and crafty.
Nyx is the bravest with people and in charge of her sisters. Peanut is food motivated. Fluff likes to see if her sisters get eaten first, but is then the calmest.
I'm a bit emotional writing this, and I know our kids, especially our animal loving daughter, are very sad we can't bring them. However, they do understand it isn't safe to keep them in a smaller tank longer than it takes to clean a larger one, and agree it is best to find them a local home who will love and care for them properly.
The posted pictures are them in a temporary bin during cage cleaning.
