Press release from SPD Blotter: February 2, 2022 4:55 pm Officers arrested a 31-year-old man in Belltown on Tuesday after he struck a woman with a baseball bat in an apparently random attack in the neighborhood. Police were called to the 200 block of Cedar Street at 6:30 p.m. on January 31st after a woman was struck from behind while walking home. Witnesses reported seeing a man with a baseball bat fleeing the scene. Police were able to obtain images of the suspect and an officer recognized the man from a previous encounter. Officers arrested the man at his Belltown apartment on Tuesday and recovered evidence before booking him into the King County Jail for assault. This press release was produced by SPD Blotter.
