STAMFORD, CT — After giving birth to her third son last week, Caroline Simmons has resumed her Stamford mayoral duties, according to an update from the Mayor's Office. Board of Representatives President Jeffrey Curtis had been serving as acting mayor, pursuant to the city's Charter, while Simmons was absent. "This morning, Mayor Simmons sent a letter to Representative Curtis thanking him for his service and informed him that she would be reassuming her duties as Mayor," said Lauren Meyer, special assistant to the mayor, in an email. "She is grateful for his partnership over the past week and looks forward to continuing her work on behalf of the City of Stamford." On Jan. 26, Simmons and her husband Art Linares welcomed William Charles Linares, who was born at 10:13 a.m., and weighed 7 pounds, 5 ounces, 21.5 inches tall. Simmons and Linares also have a 3-year-old son, Teddy, and a 1-year-old son, Jack.
