DANVERS, MA — Danvers intends to use a portion of its American Recovery Plan Act pandemic stimulus funding to overhaul the town's municipal website.
Assistant Town Manager Jen Breaker and Danvers IT Director Colby Cousens will oversee the project, which will include seeking public input on key features and community photo submissions.
"We are excited to have the public input on this project," Breaker said. "Designing a website with end-user input is critical to the success of the new site."
Breaker said the town anticipates the new website to launch this fall.
Officials said the early days of the pandemic made it clear that the current website needed improvements to meet residents' needs for information and services. The Select Board this past fall authorized a portion of the ARPA federal stimulus funding to go toward the website project.
The town will seek public input from residents and businesses in the coming months and later this month will convene focus groups to discuss and assess the needs of the new site.
As the site nears launch, the town will solicit photos of town landmarks to feature on the new site.
