BOSTON — A loaded gun was found hidden inside a checked backpack at Logan Airport on Tuesday, a spokesperson from the Transportation Security Administration said. A spokesperson from TSA New England said the 9mm loaded gun was found wrapped in a shirt inside a backpack that had already been checked. It is not clear if the person in possession of the backpack is facing criminal charges. Patch reached out to Logan Airport for more information and will update when we hear back. The TSA provides instructions on how to carry a firearm on an airplane here, saying every firearm must be unloaded and placed in a locked hard-sided container as checked baggage only. The TSA added that a firearm must be declared when checking bags at the ticket counter.
