NAUGATUCK, CT — A 27-year-old Waterbury man was arrested by Naugatuck police Sunday on stalking and related charges after authorities said he used an Apple AirTag to track the victim. Wilfred G. Gonzalez was charged with first-degree stalking, second-degree breach of peace, and violation of a protective order following an investigation into a domestic dispute, police said. "During the investigation it was discovered the accused placed a tracking device (Apple AirTag) in the victim's vehicle," Naugatuck police said. Additional details of the case were not disclosed. AirTags are small, $29 electronic discs, a little bigger than the size of a quarter, that allow owners to track items. "AirTag is an easy way to keep track of your stuff," according to the Apple website. "Attach one to your keys, slip another one in your backpack. And just like that, they're on your radar in the Find My app. AirTag has your back." Gonzalez was released after posting a bond on bail of $10,000, and is scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on March 30.
