Man Shot In Van While Driving Down I-95 Identified: Police

HOWARD COUNTY, MD — The man found shot in a cargo van along I-95 in Howard County has been identified as Charles Harrison Marks IV, 42, of Pasadena. State troopers found the man while responding to a crash that occurred in Elkridge Sunday afternoon. The man was taken to the R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center for treatment, according to the police, where he continues to receive treatment for his injuries. Troopers had responded to a single-vehicle crash that was headed northbound on I-95 in the area of Maryland Route 100 in Elkridge when they found a white cargo van stopped in the median. When checking on the vehicle, they found Marks IV shot, the police disclosed in a report. Marks was the driver and only occupant of the white cargo van. Police believe while he was traveling northbound on I-95 in the area of Route 100 in Elkridge at 3:40 p.m. on Sunday, he was shot through the driver's side window. Police believe the driver's side window was open at the time of the incident. A suspect or motive has not been determined at this time. The Maryland State Police Homicide Unit is actively continuing this investigation.
