Free COVID-19 Test Kits To Be Handed Out Saturday

PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, MD — On Saturday, Bowie residents can pick up their free COVID-19 home test kit starting at 9 a.m. at the Bowie Senior Center located at 14900 Health Center Drive. Approximately 1,100 test kit boxes will be available for distribution. Each household is eligible to receive one test box containing 2 test kits at this drive-thru event and proof of residency will be required. City officials emphasize that residents should remain in their vehicles and wear masks while interacting with city staff. The senior center will be closed to the public Saturday. At the city's first COVID-19 home test kit distribution event, approximately 300 kits were handed out during the first hour and lines were long, according to Una Cooper, spokesperson for the city of Bowie. COVID-19 testing is available at the following sites operated or supplied by the Prince George's County Health Department: Bunker Hill Fire Station (free rapid tests available); Monday through Friday 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.First United Methodist Church of Hyattsville; Monday and Thursday 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Saturday 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.Roseu Medical Center; (book testing appointments online or call 301-604-8000) Monday through FridayCity of Praise Family Ministries; Monday noon to 6 p.m., Tuesday through Friday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturday 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.Temple Hills Community Center; Monday through Saturday 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. People also can use an interactive map to find testing sites located in Prince George's County that are either operated by the county, the state or a private organization.
