MARYLAND — Welcome to Patch's first photo of the week round-up! We asked readers to share their best pictures, and Maryland delivered countless works of art. These were the top five photographs of the week. Bobby Jones, a firefighter from Carroll County, died last month from COVID-19. A Jan. 30 procession honored the fallen first responder, who contracted coronavirus on the job in December. Members of the Pikesville Volunteer Fire Company saluted Jones' procession along Interstate 695. Michael Schwartzberg captured the scene from the Park Heights Avenue overpass. Courtesy Of Michael Schwartzberg Maryland bird enthusiasts have enjoyed the clear sightlines offered by bare trees. Carol Bonds snapped this picture from her home in Abingdon. Courtesy of Carol Bonds Along with peaceful skies, winter brings serene waterways. Rene G Weisz snagged this photo of the Magothy River on a rainy day. The scene was so minimalistic that it appears black and white, but it was actually shot in full color. Courtesy of Rene G Weisz It's been a busy snowy season in Maryland. Jack Benesch took the opportunity to photograph Historic Jerusalem Mill in Kingsville. Courtesy of Jack Benesch The snow was relatively tame in central Maryland, but the Eastern Shore got slammed on Jan. 28 and Jan. 29. With 12 inches in Ocean City, the blizzard offered picturesque scenery. "My daughter and I drove to the beach to see the snow since we were again disappointed by our lack of snowfall here in Baltimore County," Kevin Keegan told Patch in an email. "This photo of the Ocean Gallery says it all." Courtesy of Kevin Keegan That's all for this week's round-up. Keep an eye out for next week's photo gallery.
