Here are the top 3 stories in Des Moines today: Just after 10 p.m. on Wednesday, residents on Northwest Westwood Drive reported hearing gunshots. While Ankeny officers couldn't find the shooter's vehicle, neighbors provided video of the vehicle. Now, police hope to identify the shooter through the video. (KCCI Des Moines) Theresa Marie Gruetzmacher of Des Moines was charged with first-offense domestic abuse assault-bodily injury or mental illness after allegedly assaulting her Waukee boyfriend. On 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, in the 600 block of N.E. Horizon Drive in Waukee responded to a report of "an unknown problem" and made contact with Gruetzmacher and the male victim. (theperrynews.com) 26-year-old Teta Barley and 25-year-old Kuley Karlar are in jail after a 3-year-old boy in their care suffered second-degree burns. The toddler had burns on his genital area, buttocks, thighs, and feet. He is now recovering in a hospital in stable condition.
