Hoboken High Dresses Down, Raises Money For Children's Hospital

HOBOKEN, NJ — The Hoboken High School National Honor Society on Jan. 21 hosted a schoolwide dress-down day and raised hundreds of dollars for the National Network of Specialized Children's Hospitals. The high school's National Honor Society was invited by Angelene Veloce — a 2019 alumna of the high school and a current student at the Stevens Institute of Technology in Hoboken — to get involved with StevensTHON, an annual fundraiser. Veloce had been the president of the NHS at the high school. StevensTHON is a student-run organization and year-round philanthropic movement at Stevens Institute of Technology. They raise money and awareness for the Children's Specialized Hospital, and the local Children's Miracle Network Hospital. The Redwings were "ecstatic" to donate money to the national network of Specialized Children's Hospital through StevensTHON, the school district said. They were able to raise $472.91.
