RIVERHEAD, NY — Riverhead has its first athlete qualifying for the state cross country meet in a decade. According to a Tweet from Riverhead Track & XC: "SextXISuffolk Cross Country is a phenomenal group of student athletes and coaches. Our girls placed 4th today in the Class A Race and I could not be prouder!" The girls achieved three personal records "in those conditions, and our first athlete qualifying for the state meet in a decade! Congrats to all & Christina Yak!" Christina Yakaboski has also been named an All-County runner during her high school sports career. @SectXISuffolk Cross Country is a phenomenal group of student athletes and coaches.
