Description

FAIRLESS HILLS, PA — The Falls Township Police Department, along with Police Chief Nelson Whitney, have announced their partnership with Bucks County for a co-responder program. The Bucks County Human Services Co-Responder initiative will now see a caseworker partnered with police officers in an effort to deal with mental health cases. Caseworker Cara Gadzinski will be responding to such calls with police; once it is determined that a social worker is required for a case by Bucks County Initiative, she will be sent with officers to handle such situations. The purpose of this partnership is for authorities to work with people suffering from mental health issues and to keep them out of the justice system. In recent years, police departments have been working with social workers to provide help to those with mental issues. Bensalem and Middletown Township will also be taking the next steps in the same initiative as police departments all around Bucks County work to help more and more people with these issues and supply them with the necessary help to combat future mental health-related incidents.
