ANTIOCH, IL — The search for a missing 24-year-old Antioch man continues. Thomas "Tommy" Howe has been missing since Jan. 22, and authorities are continuing to ask for the public's help in tracking him down. Police say Howe was last seen walking away from a traffic crash at about 11 a.m. that day on Interstate 94 near Route 176. He left his personal cell phone behind in his car, and authorities found his work cell phone days later at Old School Forest Preserve, 28285 N. St. Marys Road in Libertyville. Howe's family says it's "completely out of character" for him to go this long without contacting them. "We want Tommy's family and friends to know that we're committed to being there with them every step of this process," said Antioch Police Chief Geoffrey Guttschow, who has been providing updates to Howe's family. "Our investigators continue to follow up on every lead that has been called into our dispatch center. Our search today included help from numerous agencies, the use of a drone, and a Lake County Sheriff K-9 unit." Howe is 5-feet, 8 inches tall and has brown eyes and brown hair. He was last seen wearing a gray North Face jacket and jeans. As of Thursday, Antioch police have not turned up any new leads into Howe's disappearance. They are asking anyone who may know or have seen anything to report it. Residents can report anything that may aid the search by calling the CenCom Dispatch Center at 847-270-9111.
