GLENVIEW, IL — While admitting the immediate focus is on snow and winter, Glenview Village Manager Matt Formica is also looking forward to spring and "construction season." At Monday night's Village Board meeting, he presented an overview of the 2022 Capital Improvement Program, with a majority of the nearly $30 million budget planned for road improvements in the village.
A breakdown of the $29.8 million budget for capital improvement projects includes:
$15 million budgeted for 2.73 miles of road reconstruction and associated water main replacements$4 million for 2 miles of road resurfacing and associated water main replacementsChestnut Avenue wideningPatriot-Costco Home Depot RoundaboutTall Trees neighborhood Phase I"The Board spends quite a bit of time throughout the year discussing and reviewing the CIP as part of our annual budget workshop. There are numerous discussions about the different projects that are slated," Formica said.
The Village annually updates its five-year CIP. Road projects to be included in the Capital Improvement Program are evaluated based on age; Infrastructure Management Services' ratings of the surface and base; staff evaluation; resident input; and scheduling of other improvements in the area, according to the Village website.
