MAPLE GROVE, MN — Five Maple Grove schools were named Thursday on the Minnesota Department of Health's weekly list of facilities with coronavirus outbreaks. That's the lowest that number has been in more than two months. Thursday's list included three elementary schools — Fernbrook, Rush Creek and Weaver Lake — as well as Maple Grove Middle School and Maple Grove Senior High. All five Maple Grove schools on Thursday's list are in the Osseo Area Schools District. The district's COVID-19 data dashboard shows there have been 2,653 coronavirus cases among students since Sept. 7, including 342 new cases from Jan. 18-24. Sixty-three Hennepin County schools were included on the Minnesota Department of Health's most recent list of facilities with coronavirus outbreaks, 36 less than last week.
