Press release from LA County Library: February 2, 2022 On February 19, 1942, President Franklin D. Roosevelt signed Executive Order 9066, a wartime order that authorized the forcible incarceration of over 120,000 Japanese Americans. As we approach its 80th anniversary, LA County Library has compiled a list of books and documentary films to help children, teens, and adults learn more about the Japanese American experience during World War II and the lasting impact Executive 9066 has had on the Japanese American community.
