Here are the top three stories today in Phoenix: Video footage captured by residents of a community shows a Phoenix police officer hitting a teenage girl. The incident took place Monday near 59th Avenue and McDowell Road while officers were making unrelated arrests. A 13-year-old-girl quickly approached two officers who had a man in custody, at which time a female officer pulled the girl back by her arm. The teenager then hit the officer in the face, and the officer struck her back.
