MONTGOMERY, AL — The high school basketball regular season is winding down, and some local teams find themselves in the Alabama Sports Writers Association's final polls. In the Class 7A girls poll, Hewitt-Trussville is ranked no. 4, as the Huskies have posted a 22-5 record and captured the 2-seed in the Area 6 tournament at Vestavia where they will play Gadsden City Feb. 8. The final ASWA Class 7A girls top 10: 1. Hoover (26-3)2. Vestavia Hills (27-2)3. Davidson (26-2)4. Hewitt-Trussville (22-5)5. Bob Jones (23-3)6. Sparkman (23-4)7. Fairhope (20-5)8. Foley (16-10)9. Theodore (18-7)10. Auburn (16-6) Pinson Valley will host the 6A boys Area 12 tournament as the top seed, as the Indians finished the regular season with a 21-7 record and a no. 2 ranking by the ASWA.
