Several years ago, I answered an ad on CL and did not buy what I went to look at but I did buy a set of silver plate flatware that had belonged to the young man's grandmother. It included the serving pieces and original boxes. He was stuck, having to sell just about everything he owned in order to pay the rent. His two roommates suddenly left, and he suddenly owed their share of the rent too. I bought the set because I felt sorry for him, not because I needed it. I've been thinking ever since - at some point, I'll return it to him. He was a super nice young man. The apartment was a walk up. I think it was in Mesa but I'm not 100 percent sure about that. I didn't pay a whole lot for the flatware and I will sell it back to him for what I paid, if he wants it, which he probably does. If you knew someone in that position and think you know who he is or you are him and you would like the set back, let me know or notify him and direct him here. I'd be happy to return it for what I paid. Hopefully, he will be in a better position now in his life, being older and perhaps in a better financial position. I remember some of the other things he was selling so I would have no problem identifying the right person.
