Killer Who Had Sex With Body Sentenced In 2 Murders

HENRY COUNTY, GA — A Stockbridge man who pleaded guilty to killing two women and having sex with one of the bodies will spend the rest of his life in jail, prosecutors say. Henry Lane, 42, was sentenced to two life sentences without the chance for parole in Henry County Superior Court after he entered a guilty plea to two counts each of malice murder, felony murder, and concealing the death of another, and one count each of aggravated assault, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, necrophilia and tampering with evidence, according to a statement from the Henry County District Attorney's Office. Lane admitted to shooting and killing his 23-year-old co-worker Mirsha Victor on July 8, 2021, and killing 19-year-old Conteshia McCoy, who went missing on Feb. 12 last year. Prosecutors say Lane had sex with Victor's body before hiding it in a wooded area in Henry County. Investigators arrested Lane, his brother Cleonsee Fisher and a third suspect, Ronisha Preckwinkle on July 9, and discovered both bodies near one another in the wooded landscape near Hudson Bridge Road and Oakwood Manner Drive two weeks later, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports. The victims' family and friends testified during the sentencing hearing on Tuesday and asked that Lane receive the maximum sentence, court officials said. "Mr. Lane, you forfeited your right to live in a civilized society," Henry County Superior Court Judge Brian J. Amero told Lane following the guilty plea. Henry County District Attorney Darius Pattillo said he was grateful for the double life sentence. "The crimes committed by this individual were heartless and vile. I am unable to comprehend this level of depravity and wickedness," Pattillo said in a statement. Preckwinkle, 40, and Fisher, 41, both face malice murder, felony murder, aggravated assault, concealing the death of another, and tampering with evidence charges in connection with Victor's death, according to court officials.
