I remember the 2020 BLM protest nationwide, and especially here in Atlanta. I saw the video of the cop sitting on Floyds neck for 9 minutes. I saw the part of that video where the young cop in training asking his training office to maybe stop sitting on "his neck?" I feel sorry for that young officer. He had been on the job like 3 days and then the sh!t hit the fan for him. I understand why people protested; I don't understand why our officials let it get so out of hand. We all knew by the 2nd weekend of protest, a lot of the people involved did not care or even know who Floyd was, they just showed up for the looting. During that time we saw a lot of increased police presence in Atlanta near shopping centers the looters wanted to target. But we saw minimum police presence at government buildings starting with our State Capitol. I rode past our capital building on Washington St several weekends in 2020 and saw 1 or 2 extra State Patrol vehicles there. Republican propagandist like Carlson and Hannity now use the "2 wrongs make a right" argument. They actually compare the BLM protestors and looters to be similar to the January 6, 2021, insurrectionist that tried to stop our free and fair election, because they are stupid sore losers. I think there is a big difference between a black person looting a high end shoe store, and a white supremacist forcing their way into our Nation's Capitol to murder VP Pence to stop a democratic election. Starting on January 7 2021 every time I rode past our State Capital building, I saw 4 to 8 extra police cars from various agencies. They were all there because of all the lies Trump told about losing the election. Thanks to former President Trumps lies, Governors in several Red States have had to add several layers of extra security to protect government buildings. Someone has got to pay more in taxes to support all that. Thanks to Trumps tax cuts in 2018 it won't be us wealthy people or corporations. I do not like dinosaur republican politicians who still believe the movie Reefer Madness in a Scientific Documentary. I want to see them all gone, but who will replace them. Thanks to recent comments by former President Trump, there is a 49.9% chance Stacy Abrams will be our next governor. 100 years from now colleges are going to have political science courses about the Trump Administration. There will be a lot to cover starting with Ga's Rep Clyde photographed pushing a table in front of the Capital Chaber doors to keep the insurrectionist out on January 6 2021, but then 2 weeks later he said it was a "normal day of tourist."
