Woburn Schools Report 'A Few' Positive Coronavirus Cases

WOBURN, MA — Woburn Public Schools learned of "a few" coronavirus cases among students over the weekend, Superintendent Matthew Crowley said in a letter to families, Monday. The cases are part of an "increase in the number of positive cases in the City of Woburn," Crowley said. As of Tuesday, the city had 262 people in isolation for the virus and 68 in quarantine for potential exposure. That includes at least 16 new cases in the city over the weekend, Mayor Scott Galvin said on Today In Woburn, Monday. The city has had over 800 cases since the virus arrived in Massachusetts in March. Crowley's letter did not identify the schools involved. The students will spend at least 10 days in isolation before they can return to school. "Everyone has worked incredibly hard to open our schools in both the hybrid and virtual models," Crowley said.
