Signup at About our instructor Linda Solomon: Having always been artistic, she got her first big break at an advertising/graphic design house in Palo Alto as media buyer and typesetter. “This was a fortunate opportunity – I loved the world of business, especially in the creative environment of visual communication” she recalls. Linda became assistant to the Vice President of Finance at The Gap Stores where the world of fashion was part of her daily life. At the age of 30 she married and moved to Humboldt County where her husband captained the research ship at Humboldt State University. She easily found employment in the executive offices of the local hospital and the (then famous) The Eureka Inn. Later she joined the local PBS television station as Auction Coordinator for their televised auctions, Upon moving to Lakeport in 2005 she applied her background in philanthropy and hospitality to the world of wine, studying the business of wine at area colleges including the Culinary Institute in St. Helena. While working for a local winery, she designed and made a few of her big bags for personal use but found them so popular, began manufacturing and selling them. “I am delighted to share this fun, simple project and look forward to teaching others” she concludes.
