I am a 40-something woman recovering from a serious illness and I need someone to help me with light housework while I focus my energies on getting healthy and establishing my writing career. I am approved by Medicaid for 11 hours a week at a pay rate of $11/hour. I prefer someone to come in the afternoons, but I can be flexible with your schedule. I have a cleaning lady who comes once a month to do a deep clean so any cleaning duties are maintenance for in between visits.
Duties include:
changing bedding weekly
laundry
sweeping & mopping floors
taking down the trash & recycling
taking the trash & recycling cans in and out
dusting
cleaning the bathroom
grocery shopping
picking up prescriptions at Rite Aid
simple cooking and meal preparation
occasionally driving me to Spokane to do errands there
helping me organize the apartment and prepare for a move (that will happen next year)
In slow weeks, I’m hoping we can do more fun activities together like creative cooking projects, hiking Tubbs Hill or even playing two-person board games.
I know that for some people, these are considered menial tasks, but having assistance with them makes a huge a difference to my quality of life. I have been incredibly appreciative towards the caregivers who have worked for me in the past. It’s important to me that the people who work with me feel appreciated and like coming in to work with me. This could be a good supplemental part-time job for someone who has other employment or is going to school.
I am a non-smoker and have 3 cats (don’t worry, I will handle litter box duties) so I prefer a non-smoker who likes animals. Since I am immune compromised, I need whoever works with me to be up to date on their covid vaccines.
After you interview with me, you will be screened by the agency I work with. You will have to pass a background check.
