MANORVILLE, NY — A Queens man was arrested and charged with 92 counts of animal cruelty regarding horses and other animals he kept on a property in Manorville, the Suffolk County SPCA said.
Marlon A. Alzate, 29, of Elmhurt, was arrested on Nov. 19 and charged with 92 violations of the New York State Agriculture & Markets Law; the charges include failure to provide proper sustenance for animals and owning or keeping animals to fight, the Suffolk SPCA said.
SPCA Chief Roy Gross said that the agency received a complaint in early October that there were horses, a dog, a variety of avian and fowl being kept on a piece of property in Manorville in various stages of declining health.
