SBLI (The Savings Bank Mutual Life Insurance Company of Massachusetts) is working to further vital, home-based health care as a Platinum Sponsor of Step Out for Hospice. For more than two decades, Step Out for Hospice has provided much needed charitable support for Woburn-based VNA Hospice & Palliative Care. This year's fundraiser will be a virtual wellness event held Nov. 15 to 22 as part of National Hospice & Palliative Care Month. Participants are asked to walk, run, bike, hike, or do whatever wellness activity they most enjoy wherever and whenever it's most convenient for them. "SBLI's donation is dedicated to our Emergency Response Fund, which is helping our front line visiting nurses and other clinicians care for and protect the community during the pandemic. We truly appreciate SBLI's dedication to the wellbeing of our community," said Laura Wise, manager of fund development for VNA Hospice & Palliative Care. "A commitment to furthering the health and well-being of families is at the core of SBLI's values. Supporting the incredible efforts made by the VNA Hospice & Palliative Care team is a helpful way for us to give back to our community," said James Morgan, President and CEO of SBLI. Registration for Step Out for Hospice is $30 for adults and $15 for students and includes a Step Out for Hospice long-sleeve shirt. (Pick-up dates in Woburn to be announced.)
