5 Year old female lab mix looking for a new home, CANNOT go to any home in Ottumwa. Very sweet, loves kids and other dogs, does well worth indoor cats (likes to chase the outside cats, but has never tried to hurt them). Has also been around cages rabbits & chickens, dogs well as long as there's a fence between them. Very, very sweet and well trained! Her absolute favorite thing is playing fetch, especially with tennis balls, and she's great at returning them, too. Unfortunately for us, Misa really enjoys chasing the local deer, which is a major safety concern and causing issues with the neighbors... She will climb/barrel through fences to get at them (will happily stay in a faced yard otherwise). So she needs either 6ft (or higher) fences, or a home in town where she's not running loose. Misa is a fantastic dog. She really loves people (you better be okay with being licked, because her other favorite thing to do is "give kisses", lol), and is overall very well behaved. But deer are her weakness, if she sees/smells/hears one, she feels she HAS to chase it and will be gone for hours in pursuit. Misa is spayed and microchipped, but needs her shots. We delayed doing them, as she had a respiratory infection when I first got her a couple months ago, and we felt it was better to let her recover from it and build her immune system back up before giving her vaccinations. She is completely house and crate trained, and listens very well off leash (as long as there's no deer - I really can't stress that enough). There's no immediate hurry to rehome her, I'm just invested in finding her a really good home, who's also willing to keep in touch with her previous owner, too. Thank you!
