HOOVER, AL — A fire broke out at the Hawthorne at Wisteria apartment complex in Hoover Thursday morning, causing significant damage to multiple units. The fire started just after 1 a.m.
The Hoover Fire Department reported that no one was injured in the blaze, but 20 units in the complex sustained damage. Two people and three dogs were rescued from the blaze by firefighters.
Investigators are still looking into how the fire started. A GoFundMe campaign has been launched for two people who have been displaced due to the fire.
