Facilities and Maintenance Tech Objective Facilities and Maintenance Tech employee is responsible for performing a variety of tasks to maintain cleanliness, neatness, and working condition of church facilities and grounds in effort to support the mission and ministry to New Hope UMC. Reporting structure This position reports to the New Hope Director of Facilities. Primary Duties and Responsibilities This position covers janitorial, grounds keeping, facility event set up/take down, facilities maintenance task like repairs, painting, exterior cleaning. At the direction of the facilities manager, duties typical for this position include, but not limited to; Facilities • Opens and closes facilities, perform routine setups for meetings and events, wipe down table(s) before/after events, makes deliveries, and assist with errands Janitorial • Empty all trash, dust furniture, desks, windowsills, check for cobwebs, clean windows, clean and sanitize water fountain, telephones, kitchen counters, sweep and mop floors, Vacuum floors, all doormat carpets, clean corner Grounds • Operate landscaping equipment, Mow, Edge, weed eat, kill weeds, mulch, Trim bushes and reachable trees, blow debris Maintenance • Performs minor repair, maintenance, and adjustments to equipment, change air filters, pressure wash, paint as needed, perform other facilities repairs, watch for and report damages of facilities, grounds, and equipment to immediate supervisor Requirements Able to work flex hours. Possible evenings and possible weekends Valid Florida Driver’s License Education- Minimum High School diploma or G.E.D. Special Certifications- Background check Experience- Commercial cleaning or facilities experience preferred Specific Skills- Organized, self-starter, able to manage time allotment, able to lift 50 lbs Other Necessary equipment and supplies will be supplied by New Hope.
