Our client is looking to hire a Meter Reader who will assist with reading and recording electrical meters and demand meters in the field, and observe and report unusual and irregular conditions. This is a temporary 6 to 9 month position with the possibility of extension. Ideal candidates will have previous experience operating a company vehicle, preferable a 4WD vehicle, and will have a valid driver's license with a clean traffic abstract, no moving violations. (808)877-5556 Hours Full-time, Monday to Friday, 6:30am-3:00pm (with occasional overtime, including weekends and holidays) Location Kahului, Maui Pay $23 an hour Responsibilities Read kilowatt-hour, reactive kilowatt-hour and indicates demand meters and records readings in designated manner. Break seal on demand meter, reset indicator, and reseal meter. Read all types of electrical meters and record readings as required. Report improper reading sequence of meters and indicate proper location. Operate light vehicle and fills automobile fluids as needed. Provide routine information such as billing period or where payments may be made to customers contacted while reading meters. Refer customers to appropriate customer service personnel for other inquiries and questions. Qualifications Previous experience with operating a company vehicle, preferably a 4WD vehicle. Previous customer service experience. Valid driver's license with a clean traffic abstract – no moving violations. Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screen and background check.
