BIRMINGHAM, AL — The AHSAA football playoffs kick off Friday with several Birmingham area teams in action, with a quest for a state championship. In Class 7A, Thompson, Hoover and Oak Mountain made the playoff bracket, while in 6A, Mountain Brook, Pinson Valley, Clay-Chalkville, Shades Valley, Pelham, Hueytown, Helena, Minor, Briarwood and Homewood will look to keep their 2020 season alive.
