MyCultureMyRules Presents: An American History Film Series Dedicated to films that honor, celebrate, and elevate Black culture & traditions. It often seems as Americans, we live in separate worlds of experience and understanding. Unless we can bridge those gaps, it will be hard for us to work together to build a better community, and a better world. One starting point for that work is for people of courage and conviction to come together to think and learn about the history that has shaped our world and worldviews. Over the course of next couple months, we will be presenting films that revisit the American past. Our purpose is to understand how the Black experience has shaped the world we all live in, and how we can find roles in supporting justice today. Rooting ourselves in our history, and understanding how we got here, will help us move forward together. This is a great way to become involved in efforts to reduce disparities, bring about healing, and a meaningful entry point for cross-cultural work. Advocacy in the broader community–Our ability and willingness to speak out when we see disparities, and to challenge the everyday acts and systems that perpetuate inequality in our daily lives, as well as the workplace. Let us work together to right the wrongs of history.
