Groove Grease is back for another Thursday JAM! The all-powerful organ trio of heavy-hitting soul-jazz purveyors led by Charles Treadway sets up shop upstairs at Shenanigans on the first and third Thursdays of every month! They've brought the funky goods to Sewanee ever since we reopened for live music. Come check out what's in store 1st & 3rd Thursdays; it's a completely different experience every time. This ticket purchase will be for the February 17th show. But plan ahead! TICKETS ONLY $10 MEET THE BAND... Guitarist Pat Bergeson moved to Nashville from New York City at the request of none other than Chet Atkins, who invited him to record and tour. A jaw-dropping jazz harmonica player as well as guitarist, Pat was named as one of the top twelve guitarists in an issue of Vintage Guitar Magazine. A style rooted in a life of jazz, his sound incorporates jazz, blues, rock and fingerstyle and he's known for his session and stage work with Lyle Lovett, Alison Krauss, Jerry Reed, Tommy Emmanuel, Michael McDonald, Bill Frisell, Bill Evans, Benny Golson and many others. Organist Charles Treadway is considered by many to be the top B3 organist in Nashville. He's played with the finest jazz and blues musicians including Jack Pearson, Bruce Forman, The Dynamites, Jimmy Hall and Duffy Jackson and in myriad musical settings. His organ stylings are reminiscent of Jimmy Smith, Joey DeFrancesco, Jimmy McGriff and other greats. Grammy-nominated drummer Nioshi Jackson became a go-to for tours and one-off performances with a wide range of country stars (Trisha Yearwood, Ricky Skaggs, Blake Shelton, Jason Aldean, Luke Bryan), rock stars (John Mellencamp, Bon Jovi), blues legends (John Lee Hooker) and R&B luminaries (Smokey Robinson). He also has to his credit numerous gigs with various local and regional jazz acts, and at one time he led his own ensemble, The Nioshi Jackson Reason. His energy on-stage is compelling and engaging, bringing the audience into the creativity, mind and heart that fuels his playing. In the video: Guitarist Pat Bergeson takes an exciting solo to a spirited audience as "Groove Grease" (and friends) rocks the Oddfellows stage upstairs at Shenanigans in Sewanee, TN.
