Come help us put together harm reduction kits, which will then get freely distributed to local community members in need of them. Join us at Liminal Sunday afternoon, March 13th, from 1-3pm, to help assist Sonoran Prevention Works in carrying out their local mission: "Sonoran Prevention Works is a grassroots group working to reduce vulnerabilities faced by individuals and communities impacted by drug use in Arizona." "We utilize a harm reduction framework to educate Arizonans on overdose response, HIV and Hepatitis C prevention, and stigma. SPW provides capacity-building assistance and trainings to individuals and service organizations, including behavioral health and law enforcement. We recognize drug use as a public health concern that impacts everybody, and we utilize a framework of equity and evidence-based practices to intervene on preventable risks." We will be making hygeine kits, wound-care kits, safer drug-use kits, and more! Liminal is a free harm reduction kit distribution center, so many of the kits will remain on site to be given out here. All purchases are PWYC (pay what you can) and you never have to buy anything in order to spend time here. Furthermore, café sales and donations go directly into keeping the space up and running. We frequently host local art exhibitions, film and webinar screenings, safety trainings, queer-friendly parties, community meetings, classes and workshops, clothing exchanges, free food gatherings, community fundraisers, performances, and other sorts of programs and events.
