ATLANTA, GA — All lanes except for the HOV lanes have reopened after a multiple car crash caused by a police chase on I-75 southbound, reports 11Alive.
According to Georgia State Patrol, around 3:30 p.m. a highway trooper was going after a white Jeep Cherokee near Mt. Paran Road. The chase ended with the driver crashing and hitting 11 cars just south of the Northside Drive exit.
The suspect fled the car and ran. Authorities have started a search for the driver.
Earlier, drivers were detoured to take U.S. 41 as an alternate route until roads reopened.
