Press release from the Winchester Public Library:
November 17, 2020
November is National Adoption Awareness Month. We celebrate the commitment and courage of adoptive parents and the resilience and strength of adopted children. There are 1200 children in Massachusetts who are waiting for adoptive homes. Most of those children are over the age of six. The titles below cover many of the issues facing adoptive parents and adopted children. The search for birth parents and siblings; the process of attachment; the realities of open adoption; transracial and international adoption and the adventures of becoming a family – you can become aware of all these topics and gain a better understanding of multi-faceted aspects of adoption by checking out these books, audiobooks and ebooks.
