ASN Employees Only. 2 day course/16 hours total. Class #1 on February 16 from 8:30am-5:00pm, with 30 minute lunch break. DSP staff who wish to participate must get permission to take the course from their DSM's and from the ASN RN. Participants must be current/compliant with all of their other required ASN training. In order to attend Class #2, participants must first complete PCA Training Class #1. Staff should be DSP's who support member's that require hands-on assistance with activities of daily living/ADL's (bathing, eating, transfers/ambulation/mobility, toileting, dressing, meal preparation/eating) and also those staff who support those member's with more complicated/advanced medical care needs. After successfully completing the course requirements, which includes a written exam and a PC skills assessment by the ASN RN Instructor in the home with the member that they support, a Personal Care Aide Certificate will be granted and they are eligible for an increase in their pay rate which will then be determined through the ASN Human Resources Dept. Training will be located in the ASN Training Room.
