On February 23, 2022, Society-First will lead a peaceful protest to the capital in Tallahassee and we need you to join us in support Join us to bring a restorative criminal justice system to Florida! Society-First along with several other criminal justice reform organizations will be leading a march to the state capital building in Tallahassee on Wednesday, February 23, 2022, at 11am. There will be guest speakers at the capital steps, including Florida Rep Dianne Hart. Come walk with us in a peaceful protest against the Confederate laws that have been in place since the 1800s. The carceral culture that Florida has developed to amass one of the largest examples of mass incarceration in the world per capita, is a culture that is rotting our society from the inside out. It is a culture that is responsible for sentencing more citizens to Death By Incarceration than 30 other states COMBINED!! Florida has more than 13,000 incarcerated individuals serving life without parole sentences. We want to change this by bringing back parole to Florida.
