ATLANTA — As it has for much of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, Delta Airlines announced Wednesday that it will continue to block the middle seats of every aisle on flights until March as a way of keeping passengers safe. The Atlanta-based airline is the only U.S. airline to block middle seats, according to a news release, which the airline said in a news release boosts the confidence of travelers who continue to fly during the pandemic. "We recognize some customers are still learning to live with this virus and desire extra space for their peace of mind," Bill Lentsch, Delta's chief customer experience officer said in the news release. "We are listening and will always take the appropriate steps to ensure our customers have complete confidence in their travel with us." In addition to the blocking of middle seats, Delta is not charging change fees for all domestic flights as well as international flights that are booked through Dec. 20, the news release said. In addition, it is allowing passengers to extend the use of travel credits until 2022 for tickets scheduled to leave before March 31, 2021, if the ticket was purchased by April 17 of this year.
