Storytelling Series: Stories of Love Friday, February 4 • When was the last time that a story transported you into another world? Join us as our tellers get up on stage and tell their tales of love lost and love gained. Storytellers of the Round Table and The Elephant Showcase Storytellers bring you stories in the oral tradition. Captivating, spellbinding, and entertaining and featuring featuring Dr. Joel Ying, Mary Lou Williams, Rhonda Brazina and Marilyn Graham. Outdoor Bluegrass Concert (Frank Corso & Sandy Back Porch) Sunday, February 6 • Join fellow bluegrass music lovers for great live music by bands from southwest Florida and beyond! Our popular Palmgrass bluegrass concerts are always a toe-tapping good time. The Burnt Part Boys Presented by Alliance Youth Theatre Performances February 11 – 12 • The Burnt Part Boys is a richly authentic theatrical experience, a piece of musical theatre treasure with a book and score that reverberate as resonantly in audiences' souls as the acoustic instruments that provide the accompaniment. Share the Love: Dueling Pianos Dinner Under the Stars Monday, February 14 • This Valentine's Day, share the love and enjoy an interactive outdoor dueling piano concert with a catered buffet dinner benefiting two great organizations: the Alliance for the Arts and Our Mother's Home. Tickets are $50 per person and include dinner, dessert, entertainment and a champagne toast. Online Wine & Paint Night with David Acevedo Wednesday, February 16 • Make it it a one-of-a-kind "I love you!" A Valentine's Day gift worthy of an XO, come belly up to the brush bar and paint along virtually with creative genius David Acevedo! For one night only, enjoy an evening of creating and clinking while wearing your comfy pants! David will take you through the steps to create your one of a kind masterpiece to fill that empty wall space you've been staring at. Pour a drink, grab a snack and settle in for an exciting night of sipping and swirling Outside Mullingar by John Patrick Shanley and directed by Bill Taylor Performances February 17 – 27 • A "softhearted comedy freckled with dark reflections" (The New York Times) by the author of Moonstruck and Doubt. Near Killucan, Ireland, Tony Reilly schemes to sell the family farm and disinherit his son, Anthony. Standing in his way is a small plot of land belonging to the neighbor, Rosemary—and her long-simmering grudge. Luminous Pastels: Southwest Florida Pastel Society Member Exhibition Exhibits February 4 – 26 • The Southwest Florida Pastel Society works to promote, stimulate and foster creative painting with pastels, encourage and promote pastel artists in their artistic growth and success, provide instructive programs and activities with exhibition opportunities for the benefit of pastel artists in their pursuit of education and understanding of the medium and nurture fellowship with other pastel artists and public awareness of pastel painting as an art form. The gallery is free and open to the public, though a $5 suggested donation keeps Alliance programming affordable and accessible. Uncover a fresh backyard experience with a locally rooted vibe at our weekly GreenMarket! Spring Break Arts Camp Registration, scholarship opportunities and volunteer applications open February 14 • Our Spring Break Arts Camp combines hands-on art-making activities, creative games and playtime in the park for the opportunity to connect and craft in our classrooms, galleries and theatre spaces. Free Family Art Labs Saturday, February 19 • Drop in for free, hands-on family fun from 10 a.m. to noon! This month, we'll take inspiration from the gallery and work with pastels to explore February's themes such as Valentines day, President's Day and of course Black History Month.
