Marblehead Convenes Affordable Housing Summit

MARBLEHEAD, MA — Marblehead will convene a virtual summit on the history of affordable housing in the town, the current housing state, and the role that race has played in housing equity next month. The public is invited to participate in the summit and panel discussion set for Zoom on March 3 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. The Marblehead Coalition, Harborlight Community Partners and the Massachusetts Community Partnership will host the summit that will focus on the history of race in housing, today's housing environment and "why affordable housing and diversity are directly related — locally and regionally." The coalition is looking for questions from the public prior to the meeting. Those can be submitted at the Marblehead Selectmen's Office at Abbot Hall or by emailing them to [email protected]. The meeting is presented by the Marblehead Coalition for Building an Inclusive Marblehead, the Board of Selectmen, the Task Force Against Discrimination, the Marblehead Police Department, the Racial Justice Team, the League of Women Voters, Harborlight Community Partners, the Massachusetts Housing Partnership and the Marblehead Museum.
