DUI Driver Sentenced In Crash That Killed Stratford Minister

STRATFORD, CT — A Bridgeport woman has been sentenced to five years in prison for fatally hitting a pedestrian while driving under the influence two years ago in Stratford, according to the Connecticut Post. The Post reported Moniece McNeil, 30, was also sentenced Tuesday to five years of probation following the prison term. She previously pleaded guilty to second-degree manslaughter with a motor vehicle in connection with the death of Jose David Alamo-Diaz, 39, on Oct. 18, 2019. Police said that McNeil failed a field sobriety test and was later found to have a blood/alcohol level that was two-and-a-half times the legal limit after she struck Alamo-Diaz as he was crossing Barnum Avenue, according to the Post.
