HARLEM, NY — A man was shot and killed on a busy stretch of 125th Street Tuesday afternoon, police said.
Shots rang out around 3:48 p.m. near the corner of West 125th Street and Frederick Douglass Boulevard. Police arrived and found the victim, a 23-year-old man, with multiple gunshot wounds to the chest.
He was rushed to Mount Sinai-St. Luke's Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police said. His name was not released, pending family notification.
Videos posted to the Citizen app showed a man on a stretcher being placed into an ambulance in front of a Spectrum store, with stretches of the sidewalk cordoned off near the Gap Factory Store.
A male suspect may have fled on foot, according to police, but few other details were available.
The incident came just hours after another daylight shooting in Harlem — around 11 a.m., 26-year-old Davantay Butts was shot and killed near the corner of East 103nd Street and Third Avenue, according to police.
