STAMFORD, CT — Even though winter is in full swing and there's plenty of snow on the ground, Stamford residents can begin to think about warmer days ahead. The dates for this year's Alive@Five and Wednesday Nite Live concerts have been announced. Stamford Downtown is also now accepting applications for those interested in performing and opening for headliners at the popular shows this summer. The gig for support bands includes a 45-60 minute set with original music only; no cover bands allowed. Bands who have previously performed at Alive@Five or Wednesday Nite Live are not eligible to perform and should not apply. For more details on the gig and to apply, click here. Applications are due April 1. Last year, the concerts were moved to a new venue at Mill River Park, and were pushed to September because of the COVID-19 pandemic. For 2022, the shows will once again move back to July. "We are very, very excited for our concert series to come back this summer, and we're excited to return to Mill River Park," said Lynne Colatrella, senior vice president of events and marketing for Stamford Downtown. Colatrella said she's hopeful the concerts will go off as planned, as COVID-19 cases continue to decline. "We're hopeful everyone can go back to normal lives and having fun, which is what these concerts are designed to do; to get people outside to have fun and then to go and hang out in our fabulous downtown restaurants and bars," she said.
