JEFFERSON COUNTY, AL — With COVID-19 cases again increasing across the country, Jefferson County has kept its daily number of new cases under 200 over the last two weeks, averaging 146 cases during that time. The county also has reported 21 deaths from COVID-19 over the last 14 days. The Alabama Department of Public Health has confirmed 20,472 new COVID-19 cases over the last two weeks, an increase over 14-day totals seen last month, when the state was averaging fewer than 800 cases per day.
