About FCPS Fairfax County Public Schools is one of the largest school divisions in the U.S. with 199 schools and centers. We serve a diverse student population of more than 183,000 students in grades prekindergarten through 12, speaking over 200 languages. Substitutes are expected to support the FCPS mission to inspire, enable, and empower students to meet high academic standards, lead ethical lives and demonstrate responsible citizenship. Duties may include a variety of paraprofessional curriculum and instructional tasks to support teachers and other professional staff in a general or special education classroom or learning environment and assisting with the daily management of the students and classroom.
