'Galentine's' Drive Collecting Bras, Underwear, Hygiene Products

SILVER SPRING, MD — A Silver Spring nonprofit is running a month-long drive for bras, underwear and menstrual products in the spirit of "Galentine's" Day. Silver Spring Cares will have collection points from Feb. 1 to 28, and its efforts will support "I Support The Girls," which collects and distributes these types of donations, according to a news release. "People rarely think to donate bras and menstrual hygiene products, and yet all womxn and teenage girls need these items," a statement from I Support The Girls says. "Bras are essential for a person's health, self-esteem, employment, and more. Menstrual products are expensive, and necessary every month for health and personal hygiene."
